She's coming for you...

I went to Birmingham yesterday, and surprisingly didn’t get too lost looking for the vintage shop! It was literally like heaven in there, but way too many things try on. My sister and I loved it! But our friend didn’t quite as much, she is I supposed classed as a normal person opposed to us slightly out of the norm, 'hippyfied' 'vintage-y' freaks. So we didn’t get to have as much of a rummage as we would have liked, but I will definitely be taking another trip there in the near future!

We managed to find these 2 really cheap and really lovely skirts. £3 each in the sale! You really can’t beat that. me and my sister, Sophie, went halves on them (mainly because I chose a skirt which she then tried on, which I then decided I liked more, so we came to an agreement and decided to share the 2) I then spent the remainder of the shopping spree finding a top to go with the skirts. I do think that some things are just stupidly priced in shops now. No I will not pay £50 for a shirt. Pfft. so we headed towards good old H&M, and one of my new favorite shops in the world Forever 21.

Top-£7.99 H&M
Skirt-£3 Cow Vintage
Belt-£1 Charity shop
Tights-£2.50 Primark
Boots-Gift-Newlook

Knitted vest-£7.99 H&M
Skirt-£3 Cow Vintage
Peace Necklace-£1.50 Topshop(SALE)

We brought a nice t-shirt to go with the 2 skirts (they matched them both!) and it was only £7.99. Bargain. And also a knitted vest top, which was also £7.99. So I did manage my task of getting an outfit for under £20! But got carried away and got 2 outfits... considering that each outfit only cost £10.99 (not including the tights and belt and jewelry which I already own) that’s not bad!

I had got my completed outfits before we headed to forever 21. Strangely enough I’d never been shopping in Birmingham, even though it’s only a 20 train ride away! I instantly fell in love with forever 21. It has 3 floors and it’s just full of affordable fashion! I've often looked online at the clothes, but it honestly doesn’t do the shop justice! In real life the clothes look ALOT nicer than they do on the website! I found 2 dresses in there which I fell in love with, and really wanted to buy, but I thought about the bank balance and decided against buying 2 dresses, I did have to buy the one though! Only because it’s so different to anything else in my wardrobe! And it was only £19.95! For that price I really couldn’t say no :)

Decided to have a bit of a different hair style today and spent most my morning going mad with the curlers. I do like the curly look occasionally! but my hair just doesn't seem big enough. hmmmm.what do you think?

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY! Not that I even got as much as a card! A piece of paper folded in half would have done! First valentine’s day with my boyfriend of 9 months and I don’t even get a card! That’s men for you ay? He did say he would take me out for a meal within the next week to celebrate it though, so I suppose it’s the thought that counts! Where’s all the romance of the olden days gone!!

On a nicer note, I have started to bleach my jeans which I cut into shorts, stupid me forgot to take a before pictures, so I took a photo of the back of them so you could get the gist of the color they were before! Not quite completed them yet, so I’m going to finish them off and piece an outfit with them and then I’ll take photos!! So that’s something to look forward to on my next blog ay!
: P

Bye for now

It's been a while...

Haven’t written a blog for a few days now! And I honestly have missed it! I have actually been busy working, believe it or not! A few people have been ill (luckily for me, no so lucky for them) so I’ve been handed a few extra hours which are very much appreciated and needed!! So to be honest my days haven’t been totally exiting, I haven’t had chance to create many outfits as all I can wear at work is black clothes... which I think is stupid. I work in a fashion shop; I should be advertising the fashion... I do it as much as I can but it’s hard to look quirky and fashionable wearing all black, it’s a good job I have big red hair to backcomb to make me feel a bit more me :)

This is how I looked at work today! I do quite like my black velvet dress, that was a purchase for work, I brought  it full price for £32 (ouch) and then a few weeks later in was in the sale for £18. Nice.

I do also quite like my bug necklace, which was in the sale from Topshop for £1.50! Bargain! I really love my necklace, I get mixed reviews, people either say "wow your necklace is so unusual I love it" or they say "is that bugs on your necklace" with a puzzled expression. Yes they are bugs on my necklace and I like the bugs thanks!

I woke up yesterday to be greeted with this fine gentleman in my garden, I like to call him Mr. Fox. He did look quite cute sat it the snow :) nothing overly excited but he made me smile and so I took a photo of him!

Also I’ve become quite obsessed with these bad boys.

Caramel hot chocolate from Starbucks. nom. I’ve kind of got hooked on them since it started to snow. My rule in life is that when it snows you must have a hot chocolate! I'll be back to my caramel frappacinnos in the summer though! They are my favorite :)

I’m going to Birmingham tomorrow and I’m going to attempt to get a new outfit with less than £20. Yeah. It will be a challenge! But who doesn’t love a challenge ay?
We’re going to head to a shop called COW. It’s like a little vintage branch. I haven’t been there before, but I’ve heart it’s really nice! And cheap also! Of course they are all vintage, old and one offs, but that’s my favorite kind of clothing. Once you’ve washed them and got that old musty smell they are quite amazing! I love having something only
I have! I’ll let you know the results of my shopping spree for under 20 pound. Until then check out 'we are cow' they have a blog and also a website where you can buy a few of their selected items! they are cheaper in stores than they are on the website but they put some of the really nice stuff online  :)

I’m also going to try and bleach some shorts of mine. I’ll let you know the results, if they are successful or not and all that jazz on my next blog! :)

Until next time! :)

Okay, I have started to overfill my day with things to do on my laptop. I'm beginning to get eye strain... I’ve also now signed up to twitter! Because obviously having a blog, an Asos Fashionfinder account and a Chictopia account aren’t enough for me apparently! So add me on there if you have twitter! https://twitter.com/#!/Tanyarrrrr

I was shown this video yesterday on YouTube, it’s about a robot that falls in love with a doll.it is probably the greatest video I’ve ever watched it’s so lovely, so just watch it :) it’s not a lot to do about fashion or my life, but it made me nearly cry so I thought I’d share it.

I have actually started doing what I said I would do, creating new outfits with my existing wardrobe, and I got a little bit experimental and tried this lovely number.

2 different floral patterns together, I thought I’d be a bit different, as usual. the skirt is actually a dress, it was something I brought and wore on holiday last year (I’ll try and find a photo of how I wore it back then!) but I folded the top bit over n put the belt on to create a high-waisted skirt. I can’t actually remember where the dress was from... I’ll look into it. the shirt was from Topshop which I brought in the sale also last year, when I first brought it, it was one of my favorite tops but it doesn’t see the light of day these days (apart from when my sister steals it from my wardrobe) so there we have it! A completely new (& Creative with the skirt making!) outfit styled from my wardrobe! My socks and shoes were from Newlook :) I’ve got to say I do love my desert boots, my boyfriend brought them for me for Christmas and I think they are essential in everybody’s shoe wardrobe! :)

As you can see I have a new location for my photos! WAHEY! It’s not too exiting, it’s just a small alley at the side of my house, but it’s a start! I’ve got my eye on a few places but I need my sister to come along with me to take the photos, we may get a few strange looks... because to be honest compared to people in my area I dress slightly out of the ordinary as it is, so to be standing in a field (if I discover one) or by a fence or something taking photos, and people walk past, they may think I'm slightly strange. Ah well!

(this is the photo of me wearing the dress last year on holiday in Portugal!
the only one I could find so apologise that you cant see it as a whole, but you get the general idea!)

I’m still obsessed with looking through modcloth.com I have promised myself, that if I’m a very good girl and save up some moneys, that I can treat myself to an item ( or 2 or 3) :) because, I deserve to treat myself to pretty clothes!! :) Like if there’s a certain occasion, where I may need to wear a dress, then I’ll deffo buy one from there! It’s just nice when everyone compliments your dress and asks where it’s from and you know that they can’t go and buy the same one as you! Well, they might be able to but it would be more difficult than going to Newlook! :)

Just a nice short one for today, I haven’t got much else to say! But I’ll probably be writing another tomorrow! :)

SPEAK TO YOU ALL SOON!

Shala la la..

You know what really annoys me? the fact that I live in such a crappy area that my photos for my blogs and fashion sites are in such shitty locations, I admire other peoples photos and think 'wow this looks awesome' they’re in the middle of a field, or on an abandoned train track... here in Walsall, I could take a photo down an alley way with some chavvy kids in the background shouting abuse and smoking god knows what even though they are probably about 12, but I don't quite think that screams fashion. It's quite frustrating, the image backgrounds are important; everyone else has got a nice outfit in a fantastic location. I have a nice outfit in a shitty location making my outfit look shitty, which I’m pretty sure it’s not. Then I start doubting it, thinking "hmm is this shit? It’s only got 3 likes" whereas the ones where people are stood in Paris or on a farm have about 20 odd likes. I swear I was born in the wrong city.

Right, rant over. It’s one of those days again where I have buggger all to do. I get dressed up in my lovely outfits to just sit on my laptop, write my blog and look at more and more fashion websites, then feel depressed that I can’t really buy the things. I found a website called http://www.modcloth.com/ there are some really cute dresses and skirts on there, I am yet to explore the rest of the site. They ship to the UK too! Okay some of their products may be a bit pricey but for what they are I think it’s worth it. Once I have a few more hours at work and a lot more money coming in I might treat myself to an item from there!
Here are a few items that I have fallen slightly (a lot) in love with...

Although I am a huge Topshop princess, I don’t like the idea of having the same clothes as everyone, and this is one of those sites where you know for a fact that nobody you know will own a single thing off there! And you’ve got to love a bit of individuality, I mean id make my own clothes if I could actually sew or had any idea at all about textiles. Unfortunately I don’t.

I’ve had a bit of a play around with my boyfriend’s room to create a little staging area for my photos, consisting of one of his guitars and his amps and vinyl’s. I’m sure he won’t mind :P at least my photos may be a little more appealing. I still think you can’t really beat an outdoorsy photo, next to an old gate or a fence or something, but as stated before, I am yet to find a decent place (another mission of mine I think!) but my staging area worked quite well I think, and after playing around with the brightness and contrast and stuff I’ve made them look quite vintage (I reckon).

Outfit of today! I am wearing a jumper, reintroduced to my current wardrobe! It was in a box at the bottom of my wardrobe with some other things I brought over a year ago that I no longer wear. It’s actually a jumper dress, I think I brought it originally for about £15, but today I decided to reintroduce it to my current wardrobe and wear it as a top paired with my lovely (favorite) skirt, which was a bargain for a fiver in the January sales at Newlook! My peace necklace was from Topshop in the sale and cost me the bargain price of £1.50, and I am wearing my vintage look bow ring and matching necklace both from Primark at £2 each! So total outfit cost about £28? To think that people buy outfits for, well, A LOT more than that, I think that is a pretty damn good outfit for £28! :)

Anyway, I've babbled on for long enough now to bore you all to death, so I'll get back to doing bugger all and leave you to your lives! But first listen to another one of my favorite songs this time by The Arctic Monkeys :)

I'm dreaming of a white Valentines day?

It's bloody snowing. In February... what is this about? at first I was quite 'anti-snow' when I was at work and looking out into the blizzard, picturing myself fighting my way through the storm to walk home... but when I took a trip on my break to go to Starbucks (obviously I had to get a hot chocolate it was snowing after all!) I found myself thinking 'Awww this is really cute!' it really felt like Christmas, which makes everyone happy doesn't it? I suppose you don't mind it being cold if it looks pretty. For the past how many days it’s been below freezing outside and everyone has been miserable. The only downside to snow is that the world does actually come to a standstill. Think of the Eskimos!!

So I have a day of nothing again today, so number one on the list of things to do is write my blog, also tidy my room, which I'm kind of procrastinating by writing my blog to avoid that.... after I have finally done that, the red shorts are coming out, I'm going to create a few outfits for different occasions to justify my means for buying it. If I can create an outfit for various occasions then I’m sorted! I can say, the shorts were a must have because I can wear them all the time!

So here is the outcome! I think it was pretty successful. I made an outfit for various occasions, using my £5 shorts and my existing wardrobe so it’s a cheap outfit really! I’m also going to have to start picking out some of my dusty clothes from the back of my wardrobe, just to avoid me getting bored of my clothes and wanting to go shopping with my lack of money. If this fails… anyone up for robbing a bank with me? Just let me know…

THE WINTER LOOK!
For the winter look, I put on some tights to keep my legs warm, and put it together with this jumper T-shirt, which I brought from a charity shop ages ago! Put on some socks and my desert boots (my favorite boots) and then got my dead cat hat out and my coat, I even tested it out and went out in my garden (yes, in the snow) and I was lovely and warm!
So for really this outfit cost a fiver, because I recycled some of my clothes, which I don’t tend to do, if I buy new shorts, I need a new top, not in this case!
J

 THE SUMMER LOOK!
I really enjoyed creating my summer look! Maybe because summer is my most favorite season of all! So I was really able to create a look I know I’ll wear A LOT in the summer, and on holiday for that matter! I put my favorite vest top on from H&M and put on a shirt (from warehouse -Asos) over the top with the buttons left open for a layered look, and lets be honest, it doesn’t get that warm in the summer in England does it? So the more layers the better! I then decided to hat myself up and robbed my sister’s, but I had a brainwave! I took my sunflower neck scarf (also a bargain find for a charity shop) and tied it in a bow around the hat. I was quite impressed with myself for this idea actually so I hope you are too :D. So that was OUTFIT 2 created, for a completely different season and a completely different style.
Bloody love this outfit.

THE PARTY OUTFIT!

Outfit 3, the party outfit, could also be worn with tights, but to be quite honest with you, I have had enough of trying to wriggle in and out of various tights so I gave it a miss. I put on a sparkly top! Tada! party outfit done. Of course I paired it with the lovely leopard print wedges (the ones that cripple me) but it does complete the outfit, that and a serious amount of back combing of my hair.

So there we have it! I told you I would do it! 3 outfits for the price of one, I’m not skint (well not anymore skint that I originally was) and I can wear this shorts ALL THE TIME! I think that is definitely, shorts purchase, justified!

Chill out day for me now, listening to a few tracks I’m favoring ‘Foster the people’s’ new album today, and I recommend this album to everyone! BUY IT! It’s a really great album; I don’t think there is a single song on the entire album that I dislike! I’ll leave you with one to listen to. Peace!

On the hunt!

Today was day one of me actually getting up of my arse and taking a mission into the town to hand out my CV. I'm being quite stubborn though... I only really want to work in anywhere that's related to fashion. I do not want to work in Tesco, even if the pay inst bad. I cant stand wearing a Tesco uniform, I'm known to be quirky and unique and a Tesco uniform is neither of those and definitely no way to make a fashion statement...fingers crossed that at least one of the fashion retail company's get back to me!

whilst on the look out for a job, I just couldn't resist having a 'look' at a few clothes... and also buying a few things. you know, with the massive amount of money I have "/. But I did get a bargain, I mean I only went in Primark for god's sake! That's dedication! I didn't even buy anything from Topshop (proud smiley face).
I brought a hat! a fluffy hat at that! My friend did comment on the fact that I looked like I had a dead cat on my head (not the greatest of news since I'm a vegetarian and against animal cruelty) but despite this I do love the hat, its not actually a dead cat ( I keep telling myself) I also brought some green leather look gloves! my favourite colour and they look a bit like posh lady gloves, I'd do anything to fool people into thinking I'm slightly posh. but definitely bargain of the day was my red chord shorts at the bargain price of FIVE POUNDS! okay maybe I didn't NEED them, but they are nice, so that was my last buy of the month.... hopefully, and I'm going to use these shorts to create new and exciting outfits with my existing wardrobe! :) (photos to come soon!)

Hat-£3
Gloves-£4
Shorts-£5
Tights- £2 & £2.50
Necklace & Ring - £2 Each

HIGHLIGHT OF THE DAY, I have tidied my room, and my clothes are all now hung up in my wardrobe in colour order. I am now officially an organized person! or at least my wardrobe is. and on a plus side I've been asked to do a 4 and a half hour shift today at work taking my total hours of the week to a whopping 8 and a half hours..... wow.

Iv'e made a list of things to do to day, tidying my room being the priority, iv also ordered a photo card from moonpig.com! for my boyfriend Alex for valentines day, bless him. I've brought him a couple of DVD's as well, I'm skint so I'm not going to go overboard on little tacky 'I heart you' presents that are quite expensive and meaningless! I'm also going to print out a few photos and put a little album together for him I think :)
I must get off, once again its late, 12:58 to be precise, and I'm still sat in my jamas, regardless if I have had a quite successful day of getting things done!
