House Of Harrie Hattie

On a extremely cold and windy morning me and my sister woke up bright and early to have a photo shoot for the lovely company that is House Of Harrie Hattie.

For anybody that hasn't heard or seen anything from the beautiful company, well smack yourself on the wrist and take a look at her Facebook page! NOW! (click the logo above)

The Owner of the company is also the creator of the beautiful mini cocktail hats and spends her spare time hand crafting the lovely little things using Harris Tweed, Vintage fabrics, Natural feathers and vintage gems, all in all making some very beautiful and unique hats!

If you are an avid vintage fair goer in the midlands area then keep your eye out! you may well see her stand set up at the next one you go to! and if you do I suggest you go over and have a nosy and a chat! she is one of the single most lovely people I have ever met and is definitely worth being on your friends list!

So next time your going to a wedding, party, or even just fancy jazzing up an outfit then get yourself one of these babies!

Happy Monday

Hello!

It's nice to have a Monday off work, The day that is dreaded by all working folk. and on top of that the skies are blue and the sun is out! (by the way don't let that sun trick you, it is freezing out there!

What I Am Wearing
Dress-Cow Vintage-£6
Shoes-Dr. Martens-£30-sale
Frilly socks-Asda-Kids Section-£3 a pack!
Belt-Primark-£2
Headscarf-Oasis Vintage-£1

I told you that sunlight was deceiving check out the steam coming out my mouth! I'm like a dragon! I braved the flesh color tights and the floral shoes but did have to throw on my winter coat when I ventured out!

I have gone for a sort of 40's housewife look today, partially to inspire me to actually tidy the pile of clothes that are slowly mounting up in the corner of my room, but mainly because I wanted to give my vintage headscarf a go! I've actually fell quite in love with the pin up style as of late and think I might start trying to pull of a headscarf more often, what you reckon?

This dress is one of my favorites. I actually have no idea why I never seem to wear it. I brought it from Cow Vintage a while back and it cost me the bargain price of £6! ARGH! I bloody love bargain shopping! There should definitely be a bargain hunters but for clothes. I know a few people who could star in it and we could go vintage/charity shopping and the person who buys the best outfit for the cheapest price wins! That is probably one of my greatest ideas ever. who's up for it!?

Enough procrastinating, I must tidy up my floor wardrobe. Plus I have just received a parcel which is my new dress from ASOS which definitely needs a good trying on!

Until Next Time!

Say hello to my granny skirt.

I brought this baby from a charity shop when good ole' Betti came down to visit. It only cost me a pound! how could I say no? Originally it was actually an ankle length grandma skirt, fit for mi nan! But Betti convinced me to buy it and do a little tiny D.I.Y. on it. so I did!

I do have a confession to make, I literally just cut the end of the skirt off, no stitching involved! okay, I am lazy and Betti would have said "It'll literally take you a few minutes and it will be sorted" but I just don't think that far ahead and wanted to wear it so I just butchered it up and left it how it is! sure a few threads decide to fray from the bottom half way through the day but I find the game of pulling them off exiting. What an exiting life I lead...

I decided to take my photos with my morning cigarette. So here they are!

What I Am Wearing
Cardigan-cortorsey of Miss Sophie Reynolds
Shirt-ancient years old-H&M
Skirt-Charity shop-99p
Skirt and belt- New Look
Bag-Gift

Just to add I am in total and utter love with this cardigan that Sophie brought from a vintage shop in Birmingham. It seems as though the tables have turned and for a change I am the one pinching the clothes and wearing them. oops. But can you seriously blame me! JUST LOOK AT IT! and although it is quite loud it literally goes with all of my clothes, I definitely think that Sophie should just donate the cardigan to me. (yeah right)

I am clearly having a lazy day since I spent my whole day in my granny specs. either that or i am embracing the fact I am getting older and wearing clothes to match. at least i won't have to do any clothes shopping when i turn 70, I already have loads of brilliant old lady clothes!

I have been doing quite a few photo shoots lately so I have a few photos lined up to show you all!

COMING SOON TO WHAT TANYa DID!
-Vintage hat photo shoot for House Of Harrie Hattie
-Promotional shots for Applesnap Studios
-Me feeding a duck at the park

exiting stuff.

An Average Girl With A Bad Fringe

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING BLOG WAS WRITTEN BEFORE THE BLOG ABOUT MY ROCKER PHOTO SHOOT SO YOU ARE READING THE PAST!

I've had a lovely day today. Started by having a Rocker/Gothic style photo shoot with a good friend of mine, which was bloody freezing! Try walking around a park with fishnets on at 10 in the morning an minus something degrees! (Pictures soon to come, hopefully you wont see the goosebumps and purple legs after a quick edit)

We came back to mine 3 hours later and had a well deserved pot of tea and warmed up! I then visited my Grandparents who must have heard the noises in my stomach since I hadn't eaten all day and they filled me up nicely with far too many cakes and even more chocolate (yum).

I am currently writing this blog drinking a milky bar milkshake. let's face it, life can't get much better than this.

What I Am Wearing
Denim Skirt-New Look
Beatles Red Nose Day Top-T.K.Maxx
Dr.Martens- Dr.Martens

I don't usually buy a red nose day top, but after seeing the beatles on the front it was inevitable that i would buy it. and also buy one for both my nieces along with some crazy print leggings, cuz I'm such a brilliant auntie.

until next time guys! <3

Liebster Award

So The Loverrrly Betti Nominated me for a liebster award! (bless her!) & I've been meaning to finish it off for a while but it took longer than I thought!

The Liebster award recognises bloggers who deserve more followers! The Idea is to nominate people you think deserve more followers and get your followers to take a cheeky look at their blog. It is aimed at bloggers with under 200 followers and lets you learn a few things about the people behind the laptop screens.

Here It Goes!

11 things about me

1) I am a vegetarian and I love being a vegetarian. do not get in to a debate with me about how "humans were made to eat animals" you will lose and I will end up hating you forever. remember kids, meat is murder.

2) I cannot survive a day without a cup of tea. If my morning doesn't consist of a cuppa first thing in the morning, then I am not functioning properly

3) I have a weak spot for cute old couples. I think it's so warming to know that a couple can still be madly in love with each other and still feel the need to hold hands down the street after a good 50 years together! Romance isn't the same any more! I plan to be with the love of my life forever, until we're old and wrinkly and then we will walk down the street holding hands, madly in love.

4) I am 22 years old but feel like I'm about 70 and old as hell, yet I still act like a child. Reckless, thoughtless, naive and living in my own little world.

5) My room is never tidy for longer than 10 seconds.

6) I have a slight obsession with dying my hair and I am already considering re-dying my hair after only having black hair for a few weeks...

7) I am in a relationship with the most amazing person ever! My Boyfriend is my best friend and the most amazing person in the world! We have everything in common (other than football) I do actually feel sad that you have never met him because everyone in the world would have a better life if he was involved in it. cheesy I know, but true at the same time.

8) I work as a visual merchandiser for New Look, Dressing mannequins and windows and putting out new stock in the shop, it is quite fun and a lot of hard work but I really enjoy it.

9) I have 4 tattoos and plan to get more! They are so addictive but so lovely. I have a Camera on the back of my neck, a butterfly on my thigh, a peace sign on my right wrist and "Dance" written on my left wrist.

10) Believe it or not I am a qualified dance teacher. I studied dance for 2 years in college and did several courses after completing the course, resulting in me becoming a qualified freestyle/street dance teacher (which I guess you wouldn't believe from looking at me). I used to teach different classes but at the moment I am way too busy to fit anything in, sadly.

11) writing 11 things about me was way harder than I anticipated, clearly I'm not actually that interesting.

11 Questions From Betti

1) If you were God for a day, what's the first thing you would do?
probably make everyone vegetarians and make animals and humans live peacefully together! That sounds amazing.

2) What's the best book you've ever read?

I absoloutely love The Notebook for a soppy read but a really good series of books which I couldn't tear myself away from was Lindsay Kelks I heart books. Those are brilliant. read them.

3) What is your favourite internet meme/Youtube video?
I didn't know what to put for this, but then I remembered this really sweet short story that a friend showed me that makes me well up everytime! (and I never cry!) deffo worth a watch!

4) Tell us something about you that we'd never guess from reading your blog.
I fell onto a pencil when I was about 10 and was scared to tell anyone thinking i would have to have an operation so i know have a pencil lead lodged in the skin of my knee, you can still sort of see where it is!

5) What's the biggest goal you'd like to achieve by the end of this year?

I don't do a lot of forward planning or set my self goals, I'm a sort of live in the moment type of person, but I guess saving money would be a good achievement! Lets set that as a goal.

6) What/who are the top three people or things who inspire your style, and why?
-Anyone from the past. I have an obsession with Vintage clothing and inspect old photos to see what they were wearing and then wish that their clothes were still here for me to wear!
-Eccentrics and people out of the ordinary-who wants to blend in to the crowd?
-Fellow Bloggers! I love looking at photos of other peoples latest buys and how they piece their outfits together to express their selves.

7) What's your musical guilty pleasure?
I effing love Disney songs! And I do have a tendency to sing them at the top of my voice when the shop has closed and we are tidying up at the end of the night. My favorite one to sing at the top of my lungs is the starting song from Lion King. That song is amazing.

 8) What fashion trend makes you want to vomit?

Chav. Chavvy Chavs. such as this.

9) David Cameron - Britains saviour or plastic-faced twat?
I don't do politics so I have no fucking clue.

10) If you had a time-travelling teleportation device, where would you most like to go? It can be anywhere, past, present or future.

I would definitely Time travel back into the past. If i had the device to myself id make sure I visited every era from the 50's upwards! and I'd probably just go shopping and bring it all back with me. That device would be handy. I think it would be fun to go and see my self as a child too and tell me to become cooler sooner. haha!

11) Where do you lie on the political compass?
I am going to do this despite my lack of knowledge on politics. I guessed the answers for some of them as i had no idea what they were on about...

Bad Blogger Alert.

Yeah, Remember me?

It's been a long bloody while but I have REASONS! (yes reasons, not excuses)

I do actually have like 3 blog posts lined up, but the photos for the first blog are on an SD card that seems to be broken. Or at least my computer won't read it, so I need to find the USB lead to the camera so I can then upload the pics and put them on the awaiting blogs. Good enough reason I think?

In other news I did a Punk/Rocker/Gothy shoot the other day with a friend and we got some pretty awesome photos so here they are! I thought I would share them with you so that a) you forgive me for being such a terrible blogger and b) you have something new to look at!

What I Am Wearing
Top-New Look
Pleather  Skirt-New Look
Leather Jacket-New Look
Dr. Martens-Dr-Martens
Necklace-New Look

= Me Totally Being a New Look/Dr.Martens Whore

The Last photo is my personal favorite  We were both wearing Hi-Vis jackets on the account of us freezing our balls off and the jackets kept us alive (or at least kept us from hypothermia). shortly after finding a spot to take photos we spotted two two joggers in front, both wearing bright yellow jackets so we decided to join in. The bloke turned around and gave me a funny look wondering what the hell we were playing at and I called out "Don't worry, were not taking the piss out of you".... I think he then though we were taking the piss out of them. On the plus side, new trend idea! Hi-vis and fishnets? I think so!

Anyway don't hate me too much for being a really terrible blogger. I will find the lead to that camera and then I will show you all!!!

Keep Smiling!

Much Love!
